Arriving at the Tree Farm
Once you arrive at the Wild Rose Tree Farm, you are greeted at our main
building. Saws are picked up here. You can look at the farm map and get a map
handout to help navigate on the farm. Once you finish your tree selection you
will return here to get your free hot apple cider and popcorn. You pickup the
Tractor Ride at the rear of the building.

Free Tractor Rides
On our busy weekends we have 4 tractors with trailers to give you a ride around
the 151 acre farm. The dimensions of the farm are 1/2 mile by 1/2 mile - so lots of
trees to select from. Generally you tell the driver what kind of tree you are
looking for, and they will drop you off at the correct location. Once you cut your
tree, they will help you load and return to the tree shake and bale area.
Lots of Wreaths & Garland
We have the wreaths displayed inside a covered fabric structure. This provides a
location that you can check out all our wreaths and garland, even in the worst
weather situations. On display are Classic round wreaths, specially decorated
wreaths, unique shapes like candy canes, arches and swags. We also have the
latest designs of Kissing Balls that have beautify custom ribbons. Remember,
you can call ahead to reserve a wreath to make sure one is available for you.
WOW...such beautiful Wreaths!!
Our classic wreaths are made with Fraser Fir boughs. They retain their freshness
and color long after the season is over. Each wreath has a red fabric bow, white
tipped cones and red berries. They come in sizes with outside diameters from
22” to 60”.
Cutting trees in the fields
There are lots of trees on the farm to choose from. We do not allow pretagging of
trees and there are no ‘reserved’ trees...you get to select any tree you like. Our
farm has a rolling countryside with a pond and swamp area that houses many
animals. The fields have mown grass areas so it is easy to walk in the fields.
Preparing the tree for Baling...At the Shaker!
We offer free Tree Shaking to clean all the old dead needles and field grasses in
the tree. This ensures that when you get the tree home it should bring in less old
debris from the fields. It takes about 1 minute for this unique tractor attachment
to shake it out.
Baling the tree...makes it easier to handle.
The Tree Baler is a special machine that carefully folds the branches toward the
trunk and then wraps the tree in a plastic twine to hold it in shape. Our Balers
can handle any size tree you purchase. The finished product is about 18” in
diameter and much easier to tie on your car and to carry into the house.
Sometimes when we have severe cold weather we can not wrap trees because
we don’t want to break any branches.
Trees in the field
We are always planting new rotation of trees to make sure there are trees to cut
in the future. Our trees are planted as 4 year old transplants that we purchase
from local nurseries. It takes about 8-10 years to get a 7 foot tree. The trees are
sheared (or shaped) with knives every summer to produce full symmetric
shapes. Trees are planted on a 7’ by 7’ spacing ratio.
Inside the Country Christmas Store
Inside our main building we have the pay counters, the Country Chritmas store
and the food area. Our clerks at the pay counters will carefully wrap your
ornament purchases. We always offer a free ornament when you return with your
postcard that we send out in early November. The Country Christmas store has
thousands of unique and interesting ornaments, decorations, and figures to help
decorate your home..or to add flair to a wrapped gift. Our food area has a large
sitting area for the family to warm up (on those cold or rainy days), drink the free
Apple cider and enjly the fresh popped popcorn.
We are Dog Friendly!!
We welcome all of the family pets to enjoy the family tree cutting experience. Our
customers are very respectful with their dogs and know how to interact with
other animals. Our large farm is perfect for having your dog enjoy looking for that
perfect tree.
